Adopt-A-Cop was formed by 11-year-old Melody McLeod who was assigned a Practical Works "Ten Acts of Kindness" project at school, of which one of the acts was to help police officers. Out of this week-long assignment, she decided that she wanted to create it into an entire program.

With the assistance of her mother and a family friend, and in partnership with the Fremont County Law Enforcement Foundation and GoRiverton, Melody did the leg work in researching and reaching out to the Riverton community, organizing the gathering of donations and items to put into blue stockings, and delivering them to the Riverton Police Department. She has plans to grow the program to extend to all Fremont County law enforcement agencies.

Thank you, Melody!
